AP-HP actions on the international level, as a hospital institution, are multiple and touch different sectors. Even if the pure educational and research activities are the responsibility of the University or the National Institute for Health and medical Research (INSERM), the clinical teams have also established multiple clinical research collaborations, especially in Europe.
AP-HP has particularly the task of handling health crises in France as well as abroad, as has been shown during the Ebola crisis in 2014-2015.
Since the 30th of December 2016 and according to the law act of August 2015, AP-HP has established a subsidiary, an independent judicial structure, that is 100% owned by AP-HP (the only shareholder) and that is responsible for providing counselling, expertise sharing, training and even management in the international hospital sector: AP-HP International.
AP-HP has integrated in its strategic plan the ambition to develop an international culture among its teams, as well as a solid policy of hospital partnerships and hosting of foreign health professionals and patients. The Delegation for International relations is in charge of defining, implementing and handling this policy in linkage with the Hospital groups and the different divisions at the AP-HP Headquarters.
